About the company

A successful main contractor specialising in new-build residential schemes now seeks an experienced site manager to oversee an upcoming scheme in Maidstone on a permanent basis. Operating across Greater London and the South East, they are well-established, particularly in the social housing sector. They typically handle projects of 20-100 units and are currently expanding their management team due to a busy period. The initial scheme involves a 25-unit plus commercial flat project in Maidstone, due to commence imminently.

Your new role

As a site manager, you will be the project lead and the primary on-site presence, reporting to a visiting contracts manager biweekly. Your responsibilities include overseeing the project from start to finish, coordinating with an office-based QS, your site team, the client, and subcontractors. You should be proficient in short-term programming, subcontractor management, quality control, health and safety enforcement, and managing a busy, tight site. Maintaining accurate site records, handling day-to-day project administration, and providing monthly progress reports to the directors are also expected.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Experience as a standalone site manager capable of independently managing projects.
  • Previous experience building similar schemes with demonstrated stability in employment.
  • Valid First Aid, CSCS, and SMSTS qualifications.
  • Looking for a long-term career move on a permanent basis.
  • Ideally residing within a 45-minute commute of the site.
What you'll get in return

A competitive salary and the opportunity to manage a well-procured scheme with a reputable client from day one.
