Waites Recruitment Consultancy Ltd is seeking a Construction Site Manager with structural steel experience for a client in Barnsley. The role focuses on managing on-site activities, health and safety, and coordinating subcontractors to deliver projects.

Applicants should have experience in structural steel erection, CSCS card, and ideally a CITB Site Managers Safety Training Scheme. An MEWP ticket and first aid certification are advantageous assets to bring to the team.

Responsibilities

• Monitor progress against programmes and address delays or issues with corrective actions.
• Coordinate and oversee subcontractors on-site to align with project requirements.
• Maintain close liaison with clients to ensure effective communication and smooth project delivery.

Job description

Waites Recruitment Consultancy are seeking a construction Site Manager with structural steel experience for a client based in Barnsley on a full time basis.

My client is one of the UK's leading structural steelwork specialists designing, manufacturing and constructing a wide portfolio of projects to a variety of clients, established for over 75 years with a professional and dynamic team.

Our experienced workforce can tackle projects from simple building frames to the most complex structures. With plants in Barnsley South Yorkshire, we have the capability to process 50,000 tonnes of steel per annum, and are able to service clients at locations throughout the UK and Europe.

Role Purpose

We are looking to recruit a Site Manager responsible for the following...

Role Responsibilities

• Ensure all site activities are carried out safely and in compliance with current Health & Safety legislation, company policies and site procedures.
• Take full responsibility for the day-to-day management and coordination of on-site activities for allocated structural steelwork projects.
• Monitor site progress against agreed programmes, identifying potential delays or issues and taking appropriate corrective action.
• Coordinate and oversee subcontractors working on-site, ensuring activities are carried out in line with project requirements.
• Liaise closely with clients to ensure effective communication and smooth project delivery.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Experience of structural steelwork erection, including lining and levelling.

Proven Health & Safety experience preferably with a recognised Health & Safety qualification such as the CITB approved Site Managers Safety Training Scheme

Appropriate CSCS card

Appropriate plant operator certification such as a MEWP ticket, may also be an advantage but is not essential.

A current first aid certificate would also be an advantage.
