Job description

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Site Manager to lead and oversee the successful delivery of a construction project from initial groundworks through to final build completion in Watford. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing all stages of the construction process, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day site operations, from groundworks to the final handover.

• Coordinate all on-site activities and subcontractors to ensure productivity and efficiency.

• Monitor project progress and implement schedules, ensuring deadlines and targets are met.

• Enforce health and safety compliance on-site, adhering to company and legal standards.

• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and compliance with specifications.

• Liaise with the project team, clients, engineers, and local authorities as required.

• Manage site paperwork including RAMS, daily reports, timesheets, and material orders.

• Resolve any on-site issues or delays quickly and effectively.

• Lead regular site meetings with relevant stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Site Manager with a strong focus on groundworks and full build projects.

• Background in residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments preferred.

• SMSTS, CSCS (Black or Gold card), and First Aid certification.

• Excellent knowledge of construction methods, health & safety, and project management principles.

• Strong leadership and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple trades and subcontractors.

• Able to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.

• Effective communicator with clients, contractors, and suppliers.

• Full UK driving licence and own transport.
