Role Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead the delivery of major groundworks and roadworks schemes. This is a key position, requiring a proactive individual to ensure the safe, efficient, and successful execution of projects in line with client expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Health & Safety Leadership: Promote and maintain a safe working environment by enforcing site safety protocols, conducting inductions, and ensuring correct use of PPE.
Project Delivery: Oversee projects from commencement to completion, ensuring works are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required specification.
Team Management: Supervise on-site operatives and subcontractors, fostering a productive and collaborative working environment.
Client Liaison: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.
Procurement: Manage the timely procurement and delivery of materials, plant, and equipment.
Site Audits: Carry out regular safety audits in line with company policy and procedures.
RAMS and Planning: Prepare and implement Risk Assessment Method Statements and detailed project programmes.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Degree or relevant qualification in Civil Engineering.
Proven experience as a Site Manager, particularly within groundworks and roadworks projects.
SMSTS (5 Day), valid CSCS card, and First Aid certification.
Temporary Works Co-ordinator/Supervisor certification (desirable).
Strong project planning ability, with experience preparing both short- and long-term programmes.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and general IT systems.
Sound commercial and contractual understanding within a civil engineering context.
Thorough knowledge of current health and safety regulations.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Full, valid UK driving licence.
