Job summary

pxFairport Sunderland is recruiting a Site Manager to lead site teams across mechanical, electrical and civil works, planning mobilisations and ensuring resources, welfare and permits are in place to start on time. You will work with the Project Manager, review RAMS and Lift Plans, enforce ZERO Harm policies, and manage progress against schedules while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

  • HNC/HND in technical/engineering discipline.
  • Knowledge of COSHH.
  • Experience creating Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Lift Plans.
  • Willingness to travel UK/overseas and read engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and direct daily site operations including mechanical, civil and electrical works.
  • Manage and maintain work schedules, reporting progress and variance.
  • Review RAMS, Scope of Works, and Lift Plans; identify risks before site work.
  • Issue Permits to Work and safety-related permits.
  • Coordinate Project Support teams to align deliveries with installation needs.
  • Maintain site records, attendance, and site documentation.

The Opportunity

We are now recruiting for a Site manager to join our Fairport Sunderland Office.

The Site Manager is responsible for managing sites and Mechanical, Electrical and Civil site teams. This includes planning for mobilisation, coordination of contractor and staff site inductions and where required, ensuring necessary welfare, documentation and plant are in place to ensure site works commence on time and are adequately resourced in line with project schedules, budgets, and deliverables

You’ll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.

Key Responsibilities
  • The Site Manager will complete daily & weekly planning (and re-planning as required) of all site-based activities, providing progress reports to the Project Manager and Construction Manager and weekly SHE updates, circulated in line with current policies.
  • Adherence to and promotion of the ZERO Harm policies and procedures, including CDM and Health and Safety requirements
  • Plan and direct daily site operations including mechanical, civil, and electrical works.
  • Manage and maintain work schedules, reporting plan v actual progress.
  • Review and approve subcontractor RAMS, Scope of Works, and Lift Plans; identifying opportunities and mitigating risks prior to commencement at site.
  • Issue Permits to Work, Hot Works, Working at Height, and any other site-specific permits.
  • Daily Task Briefings, Point of Work assessments to site operatives, coordination of any Dynamic Risk Assessments, as required.
  • Collaborate and direct Project Support team to ensure site deliveries are controlled and sequenced to support installation requirements.
  • Record and manage attendance records/hours of site team, plant used, weather and any delays.
  • Creation, management & updating of H&S files & all site CDM requirements.
  • Define monitor & report on status of milestones & deliverables
  • Conduct regular site audits and support site and process audits from the wider px team.
  • Facilitate daily team meetings and client meetings effectively.
  • Manage purchasing of equipment, plant, spares to ensure sites run smoothly.
  • Resolve any issues with regards to Quality on live sites, as well as sites with active warranty.
  • HNC/HND qualified in a technical or engineering discipline.
  • Knowledge of COSHH.
  • Site Manager experience, with experience of having produced key site documents such as Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Lift Plans.
  • Understand engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • Be able to co-ordinate work carried out by different people / departments and organisations.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office applications confidently and effectively.
  • Able to travel in the UK and overseas as required (expectation of intermittent travel).
  • Completed the required company induction into this role
