Job Title: Site Manager - Civil Engineering Contractor
Location: North Lanarkshire and surrounding areas

Company Overview:
An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a reputable and expanding civil engineering contractor with a strong emphasis on infrastructure and groundworks. Following a number of recent contract awards, the company has firmly established itself as a leading name in commercial groundworks and roadworks across North Lanarkshire. Renowned for its partnerships with major industry players, the business consistently delivers high-quality projects on time and within budget.

Role Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead the delivery of major groundworks and roadworks schemes. This is a key position, requiring a proactive individual to ensure the safe, efficient, and successful execution of projects in line with client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Health & Safety Leadership: Promote and maintain a safe working environment by enforcing site safety protocols, conducting inductions, and ensuring correct use of PPE.
  2. Project Delivery: Oversee projects from commencement to completion, ensuring works are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required specification.
  3. Team Management: Supervise on-site operatives and subcontractors, fostering a productive and collaborative working environment.
  4. Client Liaison: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.
  5. Procurement: Manage the timely procurement and delivery of materials, plant, and equipment.
  6. Site Audits: Carry out regular safety audits in line with company policy and procedures.
  7. RAMS and Planning: Prepare and implement Risk Assessment Method Statements and detailed project programmes.

Required Qualifications and Experience:
  1. Degree or relevant qualification in Civil Engineering.
  2. Proven experience as a Site Manager, particularly within groundworks and roadworks projects.
  3. SMSTS (5 Day), valid CSCS card, and First Aid certification.
  4. Temporary Works Co-ordinator/Supervisor certification (desirable).
  5. Strong project planning ability, with experience preparing both short- and long-term programmes.
  6. Proficient in Microsoft Office and general IT systems.
  7. Sound commercial and contractual understanding within a civil engineering context.
  8. Thorough knowledge of current health and safety regulations.
  9. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  10. Full, valid UK driving licence.
