More About The Role
Our manufacturing sites are demanding, ever-changing, and fast-paced. We are experiencing significant growth, requiring our leaders to have an entrepreneurial mindset, be brave, and possess strong leadership skills. Their responsibility is to ensure our sites are high-performing, efficient, and a great place to work.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will manage teams across Production, Technical, Engineering, and Hygiene. You will also be responsible for:

  • Formulating and implementing the Manufacturing plan to drive performance improvement.
  • Building strong external relationships within the manufacturing industry and collaborating with Trading, Retail, Logistics, and Supply Chain partners to enhance financial performance and product manufacturing.
  • Developing and executing growth plans with Morrisons and external customers, including online channels.
  • Creating a customer service culture to ensure high-quality production aligned with the Morrisons brand and third-party customers.
  • Identifying, developing, and launching new product offerings to meet customer needs.
  • Planning and sourcing raw materials efficiently, ensuring timely preparation, packing, and dispatch to internal and third-party customers.
  • Inspiring and supporting your team across the site to perform at their best and develop professionally.
  • Addressing colleague issues and ideas to improve customer offerings and simplify processes.
  • Motivating teams to collaborate across departments and make decisions that benefit the entire business.
  • Ensuring right staffing levels, proper training, and operational efficiency.
  • Defining and achieving KPIs related to Financial, Quality, Service, and People metrics.
  • Monitoring site performance, identifying improvement areas, and leading initiatives for continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulations and standards to maintain product safety.
  • Developing and implementing change programs within the site and supporting broader business initiatives.
  • Driving industry best practices through central support services.
  • Developing automation plans to enhance performance and reduce reliance on manual labor.
  • Achieving sales and profit targets in line with business plans.
  • Managing CAPEX projects within budget.

About You
In addition to managing on a large scale, you should have:

  • Experience at Site Manager/Director level in an FMCG manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards for a world-class operation.
  • Strong leadership skills with a personable approach to foster a people-driven culture.
  • Effective influencing and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to drive performance improvements and innovate.
  • Relationship-building skills with stakeholders up to Executive Board level.
  • Analytical thinking and commercial acumen.
  • Ambition to succeed and grow.
