Job summary

Sacred Heart School in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced site management professional to oversee general maintenance and operations across a large three-form entry primary site. The role requires proactive hands-on skills, strong safety leadership and the ability to work with school staff to maintain high hygiene and security standards.

You will manage maintenance tasks, coordinate with contractors, and contribute to safeguarding and risk management within the school environment.

Qualifications

• GCSE/Levels or college diploma or university degree required.
• Experience in site management, maintenance or related roles.
• Experience of risk management and health and safety frameworks.
• Experience in supervising a team.
• Experience with building management systems.
• Awareness of hygiene and cleaning standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance tasks and respond to buildings/site issues.

Work Experience

• To be educated to a good standard with GCSE/A Levels or college diploma or University Degree
• Sound experience in one or more of the following: general maintenance, plumbing, electrical/building maintenance, heating systems, grounds work.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Working in a school environment/site management
• Other H&S qualification
• Relevant qualification or training in First Aid and Health and Safety legislation
• Experience of Risk Management & working within Health and Safety Framework
• Experience of managing a team

OR have substantial experience in a site management role.

Skills and Abilities

• Good organisational skills
• Some evidence of administration skills e.g. Record keeping, time sheets
• Working knowledge of IT systems relevant to school and site management.
• Ability to prioritise, plan, schedule and evaluate work
• A willingness to undertake as necessary training in all aspects of the job including health and safety
• Able to communicate verbally and in writing with all school stakeholders
• An awareness of the need for strict hygiene and cleaning standards
• Experience of security systems
• Knowledge and experience of Health and Safety regulations
• Knowledge of Building Management Systems
• An interest in professional self-development
