Job summary

Gill Cooke Personnel Ltd T/A The Recruitment Group on behalf of our client seeks an experienced Site Manager to lead refurbishment and construction projects in Oxford.

You will plan resources, coordinate subcontractors, maintain safety standards under CDM, and ensure on-time delivery to a high standard. This role demands strong leadership, meticulous planning and a proactive approach to quality and safety.

Qualifications

• A recognised construction-related qualification, with SMSTS being essential.
• Proven experience managing refurbishment and construction projects on site.
• Strong knowledge of construction and refurbishment methods, systems and processes.
• A good understanding of health & safety and CDM legislation.
• Experience working on historic refurbishment projects.
• Experience working on buildings that are publicly or privately owned/accessed.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate site resources, materials, plant and subcontractors to ensure efficient project delivery.
• Work with Project and Contracts Managers to develop and monitor programmes, budgets and targets.
• Coordinate site teams, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation, CDM regulations and industry standards.
• Complete site inspections, start-up procedures and maintain accurate project documentation.
• Identify and report incidents, near misses and site issues, promoting a safe and well-organised working environment.

Are you an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in construction and refurbishment projects?

We are working on behalf of our client to recruit an experienced Site Manager to join their team in Oxford. This is an exciting opportunity to take responsibility for the successful delivery of refurbishment and construction projects, helping to create high-quality spaces for people to live, work and visit.
