We're currently recruiting multiple site managers in Newton Abbot, South Devon, to work on expanding HMP Channings Wood.

This is a fantastic opportunity to engage in a project of varying scope, delivering state-of-the-art construction including two new fully electric, energy-efficient X-shaped T60 houseblocks.

Contract: Permanent, full-time

What will you be responsible for?

This role as site manager at HMP Channings Wood offers a chance to expand your skills while working alongside a team of construction experts. You'll be part of a major Government construction contract that provides a critical asset to the local area. Reporting to the Project Manager, your main responsibilities will include:

• Managing and directing sub-contractor partners, ensuring work packages are delivered safely.
• Checking work carried out by sub-contractors to ensure it aligns with programme design drawings and quality standards.
• Reviewing risk assessments and method statements from sub-contractors to ensure safe and appropriate working methods.
• Carrying out toolbox talks and site inductions to ensure full compliance with Kier standards.
• Coordinating site logistics, including movement of plant and labor around the site, maintaining safety at all times.

What are we looking for?

This site manager role is ideal if you have:

• A relevant construction qualification (HND/Degree/SVQ) or technical trade or equivalent.
• SMSTS 5-Day Certification.
• CSCS Card.
• First aid training.
