Position: Site Manager

Contract Type: Permanent – 37.5 hours per week

About the role:

This leadership role involves managing the site effectively through the leadership, motivation, and development of the team, ensuring operations align with the company's core values and principles.

Participate in developing and implementing warehouse and ground operations strategies to facilitate smooth movement and storage, meeting cost, quality, customer, and market-specific requirements, in line with business strategy, corporate guidelines, and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define warehouse and manual handling strategies aligned with business goals and policies.
  • Develop and implement warehouse and manual handling plans, budgets, and measures.
  • Ensure safety and security protocols are followed to operate, maintain, and store goods and equipment safely.
  • Monitor site and personnel performance, including performance management processes.
  • Provide financial forecasts for the site.
  • Manage monthly payroll reports to ensure accurate salary payments and address anomalies.
  • Review operational performance, data, and facilities to identify effective distribution and transportation patterns.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of operating procedures, space utilization, and equipment protection, recommending improvements.
  • Identify opportunities and introduce best practices to enhance efficiency, speed, and reduce costs in warehouse and manual handling operations.
  • Build strong relationships with business leaders across DHL.
  • Manage experienced professionals exercising independence in their roles.

The ideal candidate will have:

Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop the site. Ideally, hold a CPC qualification in transport and logistics, with evidence of:

  • Previous managerial experience in a warehouse environment
  • Experience in the parcel industry (advantageous)
  • Experience in budget control
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
