We are looking for an experienced Site Manager for a Monday to Friday role with this bespoke construction company who provide services for a wide variety of residential and commercial building projects in North and North West London.

About the Company
Our client is a well-established building contractor with over 30 years’ experience in managing high end renovations and refurbishments in a wide range of residential properties in North and North West London. They treat each project as an individual journey with a focus on providing a friendly and highly organised customer experience.

About the role
We are seeking a Site Manager who is comfortable in all aspects of construction from breaking ground on day one, to handing over a set of keys upon completion. This management role will mean traveling from site to site. As a North London-based firm, we operate primarily within the M25, however, we also cover further afield. The job role involves the following duties:

  • Liaising with management and reporting on progress
  • Supervising construction workers and support hiring subcontractors
  • Leading the material ordering and managing the inventory at site
  • Working in line with the schedule and reporting any blockers
  • Operate and promote safe working on site
  • Checking and preparing site reports and shift reports
  • Confident in reading drawings and build by design
  • Maintaining quality control checks
  • Coordinate delivery/pick up of materials as required
  • Motivating the workforce
  • Share and pass on knowledge to teams
  • Day to day problem solving and dealing with any issues that arise

About the responsibilities
As a Site Manager you will be responsible for looking after the teams on a construction site, as well as liaising with the broader management team. You could be monitoring costs and budget and ordering materials for the project. Key responsibilities will include to:

  • Maintain a positive relationship with customers and a professional standard of service, reporting regularly on build progress
  • Managing all employees and sub-contract teams, ensuring there is a positive and proactive environment to work in
  • Manage projects and make sure that they are scheduled for works to complete on time and to budget
  • Ensure resources and materials are sourced at competitive rates within required timescales
  • Checking and preparing site reports, checking designs and drawings
  • Manage site Health & Safety, ensuring projects meet all company procedures and legal legislation, undertaking regular safety inspections
  • Ensuring good housekeeping of the construction site
  • Ensure quality control is adhered to and works are completed to the highest possible standard

About you
To be successful for the role of Site Manager, you will have / be:

  • Similar work experience is essential for this position
  • 10 + years of construction industry experience
  • At least 3 years experience as a Site Manager
  • Worked in all stages of construction (Site preparation, Super structure, Building works, Snagging and completion)
  • Exceptional people management skills
  • Comfortable reading and understanding the drawings
  • Good initiative and logical thinking skills
  • High awareness and experience of Health & Safety
  • Programme management and reporting skills
  • Previous experience with planning and local authorities
  • Excellent time management and leadership skills
  • Able to confidently use email, with a general knowledge of IT systems

About the rewards
For the role of Site Manager, there is on offer a salary of £57,000 per annum. Benefits include:
