Site Manager (This role will cover various sites within 50 miles radius of Merseyside)The Role:The main purpose of the Site Manager will be responsible for the management of the construction site in order to achieve required project delivery to the customers’ objectives, while maintaining standards of health and safety, quality, environmental impact and cost control. You will be responsible for the delivery of various projects, to the specified quality, the required programme and to the maximum commercial performance. The successful candidate will work closely with the Contracts Manager, Project Manager, engineers and surveyors to ensure that projects are completed in a safe manner whilst customer requirements and expectations are always maintained or exceeded.Key Responsibilities:Site ManagementOverall responsibility for the successful delivery of various projects in the Civils and Water sectorsDeliver the work to the specified quality without defectsWhen required, lead a teams of Sub Agents, Engineers and Foreman to deliver the work safely without environmental incidents, and to the specified quality.Ensure production and implementation of Project Plans, RAMS, ITP’s plus other Safe Systems of Works, when specified, in line with Company proceduresEnsure the commercial performance of the contract is maximisedProduce and manage the project construction programme as well as producing 4 weekly look ahead programmes.Produce procurement schedules and liaise with the procurement department to ensure sites have adequate resources to complete the tasksClient interfaceUndertake an ambassadorial role representing the business to customers, public and official bodiesDeliver end product to customer requirements and satisfactionCost controlPopulate and manage the Barhale cost plan for the projectMaximise project valueEnsure detailed site diaries/records are completedMaintain commercial tension to drive out cost and challenge the status quoEndeavour to spot and highlight value engineering opportunitiesReportingProduce good quality, accurate monthly reports for the Client and internallyChair weekly site meetings in line with Company proceduresKey Measures & Targets:Monthly and weekly reporting timescales are metAdherence to Business Unit ObjectivesEnsure 3 Pillar KPI measures are metKey Relationships:Customers and stakeholdersSubcontractors and suppliersSite teams and support departmentsPerson Specification:The successful candidate will need considerable experience in Civil and Water sectors as well as an appreciation of Process Engineering, and likely to meet all of the following criteria;Essential Considerable experience in Civil Engineering/ Water, Utilities and FRC works as a Site Agent for a contractor, delivering projects in a highly regulated environment.Working knowledge of contract conditions, CDM regulations, Design Management, Programme and Risk Management and cost control including forecasting, actual cost, and value reportingDegree/HNC in Civil Engineering, or equivalentGood knowledge of specifications and testing regimes relevant to general civil engineeringExperience managing subcontractors value greater than £1mExperience in producing, reviewing, and implementing Safe Systems of Work for task specific activitiesExperience in producing look ahead programmes, implementing and analysingKnowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contractCSCS (Site Manager)SMSTS or IOSH Managing SafelyExcellent communication, people, and team management skillsAbility to challenge designs and resolve problems to a conclusionAbility to demonstrate the right behaviours and motivate and lead the team in line with the Company culture, ensuring high standards of complianceProficient in using Microsoft including Excel, Word and PowerPointDesirable NRSWAFirst AidConfined Space TrainingBenefits:As well as offering a competitive salary, remuneration for this role includes a range of benefits5% Company pension contributionLife Assurance at 2 x notional salarySingle person’s private medical coverPermanent Health CoverCompany Profit Share SchemeCompany car / or car allowance (Dependent on position)Career Development and ongoing trainingStaff Referral Scheme25 days annual leave with additional loyalty days (Full-Time equivalent)Volunteering SchemeEnvironmental and Social Value initiativesAbout Barhale:Barhale is one of the largest privately-owned civil engineering and infrastructure specialists with 40 years of experience working UK-wide across the water, transport, built environment and energy sectors.
