Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Site Manager / Foreman to oversee on-site operations on a major infrastructure maintenance project at Cromarty Bridge (A9), near Dingwall. This role will suit a hands-on leader with strong team management skills and a solid understanding of cathodic protection and hydrodemolition techniques.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily site activities, ensuring the team remains productive and safe, and driving performance to meet strict deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day site operations on the Cromarty Bridge works.
  • Manage a team of 8-10 operatives, ensuring high productivity and adherence to programme deadlines.
  • Coordinate with engineers, subcontractors, and client representatives to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Maintain health and safety standards in line with site regulations.
  • Monitor progress and provide daily updates on work status and resource requirements.
  • Ensure correct implementation of cathodic protection and hydrodemolition procedures.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, site briefings, and supervise safe working practices.
  • Address and resolve site-based issues quickly and effectively.
Essential Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Site Manager or Working Foreman on civil or bridge infrastructure projects.
  • Good understanding of cathodic protection processes.
  • Experience with hydrodemolition methods and safety protocols.
  • Track record of managing and motivating teams of 8+ operatives.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret RAMS and basic site drawings.
  • SMSTS or SSSTS Certification.
  • Valid CSCS Card.
  • First Aid at Work (preferred).
  • Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
  • Previous experience working on Scottish infrastructure or bridge refurb projects.
  • Knowledge of marine or coastal working environments.
