Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of the electricity transmission industry.
  • Competency in managing OHL projects from 132kV to 400kV.
  • Current knowledge of HSE legislation.
  • Ability to work within budget and schedule.
  • TWC Qualification, NEBOSH Construction, Environmental Qualifications, HSG47 are desirable.

Where will you be working?

At M Group Energy, we’re enabling the energy essential to support our lives.

We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation.

This role will be within our Electricity Transmission team. We design, build and commission substations at voltages up to and including 400kV. Our teams construct and maintain transmission lines and substations, ensuring the efficient and reliable delivery of electricity.

What will you be doing?

As a Site Manager, you’ll be working on our SSEN contract delivering OHL projects in Scotland.

  • Manage daily SHEQ tasksfor staff and subcontractors on projects
  • Report and investigate SHEQ incidentsas per internal and client procedures
  • Develop and maintain project documents(e.g. Construction Phase Plans, Quality Plans, Emergency Plans). Create and check Method Statements, Work Instructions, and Risk Assessments
  • Provide technical supportand productivity guidelines for tenders
  • Support the Design departmenton technical construction aspects
  • Prepare material requirementsfor the Procurement department
  • Manage supervisory resources(e.g. Engineers, General Foremen) and brief them on their duties
  • Plan and manage resources(Labour, Plant, Materials) for efficient project completion
  • Monitor project progressand report to the Project Manager/Planner
  • Supervise subcontractors(e.g. scaffolding, roadways, civils, security)
  • Manage and support reporting staff, including time sheets and expenses
  • Comply with OHSAS 18001, ISO9001, and ISO 14001 standards
  • Provide Wayleaveswith necessary information for site activities
  • Manage client-specific safety documentation(e.g. Permits, Certificates)
  • Chair weekly site meetingswith staff and subcontractors

What you’ll bring

  • Extensive knowledge of the electricity transmission industry
  • Competency in 132kV to 400kV projects OHL projects
  • Knowledge of current HSE legislation.
  • Ability to work within budget and to program timescales
  • Ability to work within a team environment, including clients, designers, H&S advisers, site staff, quantity surveyors, and estimators
  • TWC Qualification, NEBOSH Construction, Environmental Qualifications, HSG47 are desirable
  • Full UK driving license – willingness to travel across sites and stay away where required
