Job summary

Construction is seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee a retail fit-out at Pets at Home, Horsham. This short-term contract lasts about 2 weeks, requiring a hands-on manager who can drive works safely, on time and to budget while coordinating subcontractors and site logistics.

You will implement site procedures, conduct inductions, monitor progress against the programme, and liaise with clients and stakeholders to ensure quality and compliance across the project.

Qualifications

• Essential: SMSTS Certificate
• CSCS Card
• First Aid at Work Certificate
• Retail fit-out/refurbishment experience
• Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to oversee a retail fit-out/refurbishment project at Pets at Home, Horsham. This is a short-term contract lasting approximately 2 weeks, requiring a hands‑on manager who can ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to programme.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing site operations, coordinating subcontractors, maintaining health & safety standards, and acting as the main point of contact on site throughout the project.

Requirements

Essential

• SMSTS Certificate
• Valid CSCS Card
• First Aid at Work Certificate
• Previous experience as a Site Manager on retail fit-out, refurbishment, or commercial projects
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety regulations
• Excellent communication and organisational skills

Desirable

• Experience managing live retail environments
• Fire Marshal qualification
• Asbestos Awareness certification
