Job summary

Willmott Dixon is seeking a Build (Site) Manager to lead construction across the North East. You will oversee on-site delivery, ensuring safety, quality and projects finish on time and within budget.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will manage teams, supply chain, and ensure compliance with project specifications while maintaining strong community relations and professional standards on every site.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record delivering construction projects as part of a wider team.
  • Ability to read and interpret programmes, drawings and technical specifications.
  • Understanding and sharing build programmes.
  • Managing the supply chain, direct employees and consultants.
  • Proactive liaison with customers and the supply chain.
  • CSCS card appropriate for site work.
  • SMSTS certificate.
  • First Aid at Work certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Construction Manager, the successful Site Manager will manage the delivery of projects safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality.
  • Establish standards of quality on-site and ensure delivery of a quality build in accordance with the project specifications and project requirements.
  • Adopt the principles of the Considerate Constructor’s Scheme and manage community relations. Ensure appropriate site image is maintained to encourage repeat business.
  • Undertake the works in the most economic manner to eliminate waste and avoid non-recoverable costs and preliminary losses.
  • Produce and develop project programmes and control operations to achieve delivery of the project on time.
  • Understand the client priorities and adopt a professional and considerate approach to maintain good working relations.
  • Maintain the highest standards of health, safety and environmental management.
  • Manage project handover and ensure defect/snag free completion.
  • Support the strategy for the closure of defects during defects period and obtain a certificate of Making Good Defects within targets set.

Construction is changing, and we are at the forefront of that change. We are looking for a Build (Site) Manager to join us in the North East region.

Our aim is for you to be a part of our team to deliver projects close to home across multiple sectors mainly in leisure, education, blue light, residential and healthcare. As a Site Manager at Willmott Dixon, you will be part of our one team ethos that delivers quality projects on time whilst also having a positive impact on the local community.

As a Build (Site) Manager at Willmott Dixon the key responsibilities will include:

  • Produce and develop project programmes and control operations to achieve delivery of the project on time. Organise the works and supply chain to provide the right working environment to avoid disruption between trades.
  • Understand the client priorities and adopt a professional and considerate approach to maintain good working relations.
  • Maintain the highest standards of health, safety and environmental management.
  • Manage project handover and ensure defect/snag free completion.
  • Support the strategy for the closure of defects during defects period and obtain a certificate of Making Good Defects within targets set.
