Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead a £3 million drylining package on a major £80 million student accommodation development in Exeter. The role is site-based, with a target to deliver safely, on time and to high standards over roughly two years.

Ideal candidates will have a strong drylining background, NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management, and SMSTS/CSCS First Aid qualifications. Competitive salary and long-term project stability offered.

Qualifications

• Strong drylining experience with deep knowledge of systems and specs.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day site operations on a large-scale student accommodation project.
• Coordinate labour, materials, plant, and subcontractors to achieve programme targets.
• Monitor quality, health & safety, and compliance across all drylining works.
• Maintain site documentation including progress reports, RFIs, variations, and site diaries.
• Liaise with the Principal Contractor, consultants and project team.
• Produce short-term programmes and monitor progress against milestones.
• Support and mentor site teams while maintaining strong on-site relationships.

Position: Site Manager

Location: Exeter, United Kingdom

Salary: Up to £55,000 (dependent on experience)

Day Rate: Up to £250 a day

Working Arrangement: Site based

Employment Type: Permanent or Contract

A Site Manager is required for a leading drylining contractor to oversee a £3 million drylining package on a major £80 million student accommodation development in Exeter. The project is expected to run for approximately 2 years and forms part of a strong pipeline of upcoming work across the Southwest. With a turnover of £65 million and approximately 150 members of staff, the company operates from multiple offices across the UK.

This role would suit an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in drylining, capable of managing site operations, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard.

Site Manager Job Overview

• Manage day-to-day site operations on a large-scale student accommodation project.
