CarmichaelUK are seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead delivery on a key Southern Water infrastructure scheme in Brighton. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly competent civil engineering professional to take ownership of site operations, ensuring health & safety compliance, programme adherence, and quality execution.
Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement the Health, Safety and Environmental Management Plan (HASEMP).
Ensure all construction works are defect–free and delivered to specification.
Maintain a proactive approach to community engagement and the impact of works on local residents and the travelling public.
Lead, supervise and mentor the site team.
Ensure operatives on–site are adequately trained and experienced.
Promote cost–effective delivery through efficient resource management.
Prepare, review, and update realistic project programmes.
Oversee preparation and communication of method statements and risk assessments.
Deliver site inductions and toolbox talks.
Ensure plant/equipment is fit for purpose, properly operated, and regularly inspected.
Maintain accurate records for measurement and payment.
Proactively communicate risks and opportunities to senior management.
Provide timely as–constructed records to the CDMC for the Health and Safety File.
Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
Recognised Site Management qualifications.
CSCS Site Manager card (minimum).
IOSH Managing Safely or Construction Managers Safety Certificate.
Valid First Aid at Work certification.
Valid UK Driving Licence.
Strong understanding of engineering principles.
Incorporated (IEng) or Chartered (CEng) status.
