Job description

At Watkin Jones, we are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for a Site Manager to join our team within the refurbishment arm of the business, working on schemes valued between £1 million and £5 million.

This key role within our growing refurbishment division allows you to make a significant impact as we expand in this area.

As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of activities on site, ensuring all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will drive progress to meet programme deadlines, manage subcontractors, and maintain momentum and compliance through a hands-on approach.

You will communicate site instructions, coordinate subcontractor activities in line with the construction programme, and liaise regularly with the Project Manager and Quantity Surveyor, attending coordination meetings as required.

Additional responsibilities include overseeing drawings and plans, ensuring adherence to budgets, minimizing waste, and contributing to the overall success of the project as delegated by senior management.

About You:

You should have solid experience in construction or development, with a strong understanding of site operations and health and safety standards. You hold a valid SMSTS and CSCS card, a First Aid certificate, and ideally a Level 3 or 4 qualification (such as an NVQ, Apprenticeship, or HNC). You are comfortable reading and interpreting construction drawings and have practical experience with Microsoft Office. A dependable team player, you work collaboratively and may have supervisory experience, such as an Assistant or Site Manager. Additional safety or tools training is a plus.

Why Join Us?

  • Rewards: Discretionary bonus, health cash plan, life insurance, and more.
