Job summary

Avove is seeking a Site Manager to lead the safe, efficient, and high‑quality delivery of projects across the Severn Trent Water framework. You will drive a strong HSEQ culture, lead site teams and subcontractors, ensure compliance and project documentation standards are met, and collaborate with operational and training teams to build capability and project success.

The role requires knowledge of CDM and health & safety, experience in utilities, and strong communication and stakeholder

Qualifications

• CDM and health & safety knowledge is essential.
• Experience in the water sector or utilities environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Full UK driving licence and valid CSCS card.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Understand and manage the contract scope for each project.
• Ensure accurate completion of site diaries.
• Maintain welfare facilities on site.
• Prepare RFQs for subcontracted activities.
• Hold pre-start meetings with subcontractors at least one week before work begins.
• Produce rolling 4-week look-ahead programmes.
• Liaise regularly with client operational teams to coordinate site activities.
• Chair collaborative meetings with clients and subcontractors.
• Review and discuss Avove RAMS with Site Supervisors.
• Review and discuss subcontractor RAMS with relevant site and engineering teams.
• Review and approve subcontractor payment applications promptly.
• Lead new-starter inductions for regional/workstream staff.
• Arrange subcontractor inductions via Site Supervisors.
• Complete two Site Supervisor inspections per week.
• Issue permits as required.
• Review Crane Lift Plans (where AP-trained).
• Generate, review, and approve non-crane lift plans.
• Deliver daily briefings to site teams.

Location: We welcome applications from candidates based across the Severn Trent region, with flexibility to travel across the framework area as required.

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary: £48,000 - £54,000 (depending on experience)

You'll drive a strong HSEQ culture, lead site teams and subcontractors, ensure compliance and project documentation standards are met, and work closely with operational and training teams to develop capability, performance, and project success.

About you

• Strong knowledge of CDM, health & safety, and environmental legislation.
• Experience within the water sector or a similar utilities environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A collaborative approach with the ability to build strong working relationships.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Valid CSCS Card.

This role is not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker Visa process. Applicants must therefore have, and maintain, an alternative right to work for the duration of employment.
