Job Description

Experienced Senior Site Manager required to work for a regional main contractor, specialising in managing new build & refurbishment projects.

The role involves working as No. 2, reporting to a Project Manager, on a refurbishment of an existing hospital. Responsibilities include managing all site-based construction activities such as short-term programming, health and safety, review of method statements, risk assessments, material procurement, logistics, quality control, client liaison, coordination meetings, progress reporting, snagging, and handover.

The project is ongoing, with approximately 5 years remaining, and involves improvements and refurbishments to modernize the hospital facility. It is located on-site in Bristol, with the regional office of a well-established main contractor, which has a strong pipeline of work in Bristol & Somerset.

About the Company/Client/Project:

The contractor is a busy national firm with a £55m annual turnover in the region, experienced in delivering schemes across education, defence, local authority, blue light, commercial, and student accommodation sectors.

Requirements including certificates and qualifications:

• 2-3 years of experience as a Site Manager, with a proactive and self-motivated approach, demonstrating excellent technical, organisational, management, and communication skills.
• Proven track record with a top twenty main contractor and experience managing facades is advantageous.
• Experience in healthcare projects is desirable.
• Background in trades, construction management, or engineering, with attention to detail, excellent communication, and proactive management skills.
• Strong planning and problem-solving abilities, with a 'get it right first time' attitude.
• Must possess SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certifications.
• Proven successful project delivery with a focus on safety, quality, client relationships, and supply chain management. Mentoring junior managers and engineers is a plus.
