We are seeking an Experienced Senior Site Manager to join a regional main contractor, specializing in managing new build and refurbishment projects.

This role involves working as a no2 reporting to a Project Manager on a hospital refurbishment project. You will be responsible for overseeing all site-based construction activities, including short-term programming, health and safety, reviewing method statements and risk assessments, material logistics, quality control, client liaison, coordination meetings, progress reporting, snagging, and handover.

The project is ongoing, located on-site, with approximately 5 years remaining. It involves various improvements and refurbishments to modernize an existing hospital facility.

The position is based with the regional office of a Bristol-based main contractor, which has a strong pipeline of work in the Bristol & Somerset areas.

About the Company/Client/Project:

The contractor is a busy national company with a £55m annual turnover in the region, experienced in delivering new build and refurbishment schemes across sectors such as education, defense, local authority, blue light, commercial, and student accommodation.

Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
  • The successful candidate will have 2-3 years of experience as a Site Manager, be self-motivated, proactive, and demonstrate excellent technical, organizational, and communication skills. Experience working for a top twenty main contractor and managing facades is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in healthcare projects is preferred.
  • An educational background in trades, construction management, or engineering, with a keen eye for detail, is desirable. You should be well-organized, proactive, and possess strong planning and problem-solving abilities.
  • Necessary qualifications include SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certifications.
  • You should have a proven track record in site management, prioritizing safety, quality, client relationships, and supply chain management. Mentoring junior managers and engineers would be a plus.
  • High standards, attention to detail, and drive are highly valued and will be rewarded with an excellent salary, benefits, and career development opportunities.
