The role of the Site Manager is to manage and monitor the delivery of the specified site/block to time and budget, in a safe and effective manner. The Site Manager will be expected to manage, motivate, appraise, and deliver short-term programmes to the foremen and sub-contractors within the project.

The Site Manager will liaise with the commercial and health and safety teams, as well as managers across the business, to ensure project delivery. They will also compile and issue weekly site reports to the Project Manager for review and transmission to the client.

Role Responsibilities:

  1. Create, manage, and monitor specified parts of the project plan and associated budgets.
  2. Manage foremen and other site-specific sub-contractors.
  3. Work closely with Commercial, Design & Quality, and Health & Safety departments.
  4. Ensure all works adhere to safety standards and RAMs.
  5. Ensure works are completed according to drawings and specifications.
  6. Complete works on time and within deadlines.
  7. Prepare and issue weekly and monthly client reports to the Project Manager.
  8. Manage workforce productivity, deadlines, and budgets.
  9. Build and maintain relationships with key client staff, stakeholders, funders, and third parties.
  10. Take full ownership of all aspects of work management within your remit.
  11. Understand scope and manage resources to deliver works on time and within budget.
  12. Coordinate labour and material requirements, liaising with project managers and procurement departments.
  13. Control site requirements and documentation through accurate monitoring.
  14. Maintain information flow and communicate requirements to the workforce.
  15. Ensure quality standards and contractual requirements are met.
  16. Keep accurate records of all aspects of the works, ensuring compliance with legislation and policies.
  17. Collaborate with project management, commercial, and QS teams to manage subcontractors, orders, budgets, and costs.
  18. Work with Health & Safety to ensure delivery of H&S plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
  19. Coordinate with ISO and Design & Quality departments for service and product delivery.
  20. Manage resident and customer issues to ensure satisfaction.
  21. Monitor workforce performance and implement objectives and action plans.
  22. Address contractor and sub-contractor issues promptly.
  23. Attend regular site and management meetings.
  24. Stay updated on industry regulations, H&S legislation, and company policies.
  25. Hold weekly progress meetings with subcontractors and supply chain.
  26. Ensure QA/QC processes are followed and recorded.
  27. Update and monitor the site programme weekly.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Technical qualification such as ONC/HNC or equivalent in construction-related discipline.
  • CSCS card.
  • Site Managers Safety SMSTS certification.
  • Scaffold awareness; mobile tower scaffold PASMA certification.
  • Fire safety awareness.
  • DBS check as required for specific projects.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, and Microsoft Outlook.
