Site Manager – Aberdeenshire | Full-Time | Permanent

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Manager to join a well-established civil engineering and multi-utilities contractor, delivering key projects across Aberdeenshire and the wider region.

This is a permanent position offering long-term security, career development, and the chance to play a pivotal role in managing the successful delivery of civil engineering and multi-utility works.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of projects from inception through to completion. You will oversee daily site operations, manage resources, and act as the key interface between operatives, subcontractors, senior management, and clients. Your leadership will ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.

  • Managing and coordinating all on-site activities, including subcontractors and direct labour
  • Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality (HSEQ) requirements
  • Interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
  • Preparing RAMS, delivering job instructions, and leading toolbox talks
  • Monitoring project progress, preparing reports, and providing updates to senior management
  • Maintaining accurate records including site diaries, progress reports, and material deliveries
  • Managing resources effectively, including labour, materials, and plant
  • Chairing/attending site meetings and liaising with clients, consultants, and stakeholders
  • Supporting the commercial team with project measurements and valuations
  • Identifying and mitigating project risks while resolving issues quickly and effectively
  • Leading, coaching, and developing site teams to ensure high performance and strong morale
  • Carrying out staff appraisals and monitoring individual performance
About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • SMSTS accreditation and valid CSCS card (Black/Gold)
  • Proven track record as a Site Manager on civil engineering or utilities projects
  • Excellent knowledge of construction methods, planning processes, and HSEQ regulations
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
  • Proficiency in MS Office packages
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to lead by example
  • Full UK driving licence & right to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available)
  • A technical qualification in Civil Engineering or a related field (beneficial but not essential)
