Job Advert

We are looking for a dependable Maintenance Officer to join us on a 4-month fixed-term basis. You will be joining a warm and supportive team who do not micromanage.

This role is to ensure that we have great and safe facilities across our student portfolio, which are compliant with the ever-evolving legislation and regulation. We want them to be inviting, to look great, and most importantly, to be a welcoming ‘home and community’ that our students feel proud to be a part of. You will be passionate about ensuring students have the best possible experiences with their accommodation and their ‘homes’ whilst they live on site.

As a Site Maintenance Officer, a typical day might include:

  1. Working on site to ensure that all our stock, grounds, and buildings are always maintained to the highest and safest standards.
  2. Working with the Site Services Supervisor to ensure that we give our people the best service and experience when they have any maintenance requests or queries.
  3. Carrying out maintenance repairs within the student properties, e.g., basic DIY, silicone sealing, basic plumbing, basic joinery, and more.
  4. Maintaining various records and systems to ensure accurate logs and reports in all areas of building compliance.
  5. Ensuring that you work with your team to respond to all enquiries in a timely and prompt manner.
  6. Ensuring the site is well maintained, tidy, secure, and welcoming at all times.
  7. Complying with Acis Health and Safety Standards and contributing towards meeting its responsibilities.

The must-haves:

  1. Experience within the Accommodation or Housing Sector.
  2. IT proficiency, with the ability to accurately use IT platforms and systems.
  3. Ability to coordinate, monitor, and control contractors.
  4. Good working knowledge of DIY, including basic maintenance, plumbing, decorating, plastering, and joinery.
  5. Knowledge of safe working systems and health and safety regulations.

The added extras:

  1. Hold a UK driving license.
  2. Qualification in Joinery, Plumbing, or Construction.
  3. IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
  4. Understanding of building regulations regarding Purpose Built Student Accommodation.
  5. MHFA trained or willingness to undertake training.
