As we continue to grow, we are looking for a meticulous and organised Site Logistics Operative to support our operations on a flagship project.

Role Overview

The Site Logistics Operative will be responsible for assisting the Logistics Manager/Supervisor with taking deliveries, unloading delivery vehicles into the allocated storage, delivering various materials, tools & small plant to various work areas across the Project in a safe and timely manner. The Site Logistics Operative will also be responsible for general housekeeping. This role involves ensuring strict health and safety requirements are followed. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, Traffic/Vehicle Banksman Cert’ (in house accepted). Please note, this role involves physical, manual handling of stock. This person will be assisted by a pair of labours and be responsible for ensuring that they are carrying out there duties accordingly.

Key Responsibilities

Taking/Receiving Deliveries:

    • Ensuring the delivery vehicle is safely marshalled to the relevant storage area.
    • Under the supervision of the Logistics Manager/Supervisor, unload and store deliveries into the allocated storage area in a safe and timely manner.

Allocation of Stock/Materials/Small Plant & Tools:

  • Responsible for ensuring that all delivery notes are checked against the delivery and taken to the site office to be passed to the logistics manager.
  • Under instruction from the Logistics Manager/Supervisor move required Materials or small plant from allocated storage areas to the relevant work areas as and when required.
  • Work closely with the Site Gate Person to ensure delivery vehicles can be safely moved onto site and to allocated storage areas.
  • Working closely with Site Forklift/Telehandler Operator to ensure that larger/heavier items are moved to storage or site working areas as and when required.

Housekeeping:

  • Ensuring that cleanliness of work and storage areas are maintained to a high standard.
  • Correct disposal of rubbish into the allocated skip/disposal area.
Key Requirements
  • Experience:
    • Previous experience working on a Construction.
    • Experience with lifting, carrying, manual handling.
Skills & Competencies:
  • CSCS Card
  • Vehicle Marshall/Banksman Certificate (’in house’ cert’s considered)
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with various members of the Site team.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Personal Attributes:
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong sense of responsibility and timekeeping
  • A team player with a positive attitude and the ability to work collaboratively.
