Overview

Junior Engineer with a keen interest in site investigation, civil engineering, field work and condition assessment of existing buildings and structures? GBG Group are a market leader in structural and geophysical site investigation. A privately owned engineering specialist offering bespoke building remediation investigation, testing and consultancy services on historical and modern buildings across the UK and internationally.

We’re seeking a Graduate Engineer or Technician to join our team at Cambridge or Watford, helping us to investigate structures, protect buildings and preserve monuments throughout their life cycle. We offer a unique career in structural assessment and building investigation.

Responsibilities
  • Learn how to test, inspect and assess structures using specialist site investigation equipment on site.
  • Set up and use specialist equipment to run non-destructive and invasive tests, assessing material quality and structural condition.
  • Be involved in sampling for repair work, note-taking and data collection.
  • Work with the engineering team on projects across East Anglia and London, including castles, museums, hospitals, tunnels and wind turbines.
  • Develop site inspection, survey and measurement skills through practical field work.
  • Enjoy working outside and being on site with a practical approach and keen interest in buildings.
Qualifications
  • Graduate Engineer or Technician with a relevant engineering or surveying background.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel to projects in London and East Anglia, typically site based 4 days a week, depending on project and office needs.
