Job summary

Atlas NextWave is recruiting an experienced Site HSE Advisor to support a major power transmission project for a leading global energy engineering organisation working on behalf of the UK transmission network. This is a high-profile role on a major energy transition programme with opportunities across HVDC, substations and National Grid projects.

The role requires strong cross-sector experience, audits and regulatory compliance, with a focus on leading EHS leadership on site and ensuring

Qualifications

• Experience in energy, utilities, power transmission, or construction sectors.
• Auditing, inspections and investigations experience.
• Strong knowledge of safety management systems and regulatory compliance.
• Experience supporting Principal Contractors on large projects.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments and hazard identification activities.
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Perform site audits, inspections and compliance reviews.
• Support implementation and continual improvement of EHS management systems.
• Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with site safety requirements.
• Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and safety communications.
• Support emergency response planning and drills.
• Produce EHS reports and maintain accurate project documentation.
• Promote a strong safety culture and provide visible EHS leadership on site.

Job description

Atlas NextWave is recruiting for an experienced Site HSE Advisor to support the delivery of a major power transmission project for a leading global energy engineering organisation working on behalf of the UK transmission network.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a high-profile infrastructure programme supporting the UK's energy transition. Previous experience on substation, HVDC, power transmission, National Grid or large-scale energy projects is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments and hazard identification activities.

About You

We're keen to speak with candidates who have:

• Proven experience conducting audits, inspections and investigations
• Strong understanding of safety management systems and regulatory compliance
• Experience supporting Principal Contractors on large construction projects
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
