Job summary

Cathcart Technology in Glasgow is seeking an experienced Project Planner to join a well-established construction company. The role is hybrid with occasional travel, about three days on site per week, supporting tender through to completion.

You will work with project managers, site teams, and commercial colleagues to develop and maintain logic-linked programmes, monitor progress, and produce lookahead schedules. Proficiency in Asta Powerproject (v13) is essential, with Primavera P6 desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Planner within the construction sector.
• Strong experience in fit-out/refurbishment projects.
• Valid UK driver’s licence and access to a car.
• Proficiency in Asta Powerproject (v13).
• Experience with Primavera P6 (desirable).
• Understanding of construction sequencing and methodologies.
• Knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
• Commercial awareness: link between programme, cost, and risk.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain logic-linked programmes reflecting site delivery.
• Collaborate with project managers, site teams, commercial teams and subcontractors to gather information and keep programmes up to date.
• Monitor site progress and update programmes; produce short-term lookahead schedules.
• Identify risks, delays, and opportunities; analyse critical path impacts and effects of change.
