Job summary

Kanadevia Inova, based in the United Kingdom, seeks a Cost Controller for its Power Plant construction project in Walsall. The role offers hybrid working after an initial 3-month period, with on-site presence five days a week during the start phase.

You will monitor costs, forecast variances, and coordinate with Head Office (Zurich) and site teams to secure margins. Strong IFRS PoC experience and EPC contract knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in cost control for projects, ideally construction/engineering or project accounting.
• Strong command of SAP B1 and IFS.
• Excellent MS Excel skills and financial analysis experience.
• Solid understanding of project controlling and financial management.
• Experience with Percentage-of-completion accounting under IFRS (PoC IFRS).
• Familiarity with EPC contract commercial processes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor project costs and analyze deviations from the plan, providing regular forecasts (cost to complete).
• Coordinate with Head Office teams and site management to control costs and revenues recognition.
• Manage local costs (petty cash, credit cards, cheques, project bank accounts) and liaise with regional HQ accounting.
• Oversee accruals for Civil and Site Lots to control project margins.
• Review and approve invoices from subcontractors.

Job Description

Kanadevia Inova are recruiting a Cost Controller to work with the project team on our Power Plant construction project in Walsall, UK. The position can be considered for hybrid working (1 or 2 days home working, remainder on site, Mon-Fri), following initial 3 months employment in the role.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to;

• Monitoring of project costs and analysis of deviations from the project plan, providing regular project forecast (cost to complete)
• Works closely with the Lead Project Controller and Work Package Holders in Head Office (Zurich) and in particular on site with the Site Manager, Site Construction Manager, Project Manager Civil Works, Site Supervisors, Site Quantity Surveyors, Site Commercial Manager andCommissioning Manager.
• Managethe local costs (petty cash, credit card, cheque book, project bank account, etc.). Cooperates with regional and headquarter accounting, mainly for manpower cost management.
• Planning and controls of revenues recognition and project margins through booking of accruals for Civil and Site Lots.
• Checking and approval of invoices from subcontractors

Qualifications

• Experience in a cost control for projects ideally construction / engineering and / or project accounting role.
• Good command of SAP B1 and IFS
• Very good knowledge of MS Office (especially MS Excel),
• Strong understanding of project controlling and financial management
• Percentage-of-completion method(PoC) accounting experience under IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards)
• Understanding of the commercial process of EPC Contracts
• Ability to work independently and establish structures in new environments
