Job summary

Smurfit Westrock Northampton is seeking a proactive Facilities and Services Support Cell Technician Engineer to join the site Engineering Team. You will oversee safety, reliability, and compliance across plant services, including electrical infrastructure, HVAC, compressed air, and fire safety systems, while leading maintenance contracts and improvements.

You will work with the Engineering Manager to implement preventive and predictive maintenance, embrace reliability-centered maintenance (RCM)

Qualifications

• Safety-conscious with ability to identify hazards and mitigate risk.
• Strong understanding of facilities engineering principles (mechanical and electrical).
• Relevant qualification (HNC/HND) in facilities or mechanical engineering; electrical qualification is a plus.
• Ability to identify issues and develop cost-effective solutions for reliable plant performance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety systems and practices are followed at all times.
• Identify and manage asset reliability risks to ensure safe operations.
• Develop predictive and preventive maintenance strategies based on reliability data.
• Integrate new technologies to improve reliability and performance.
• Prepare reports documenting findings and recommendations.
• Propose new technologies to improve equipment performance.
• Analyze failure modes to prevent downtime using FMECA and statistics.
• Collaborate with engineers to design out failures in capital projects.
• Manage overtime and staffing in line with operations.
