Site Facilities and Maintenance Coordinator

Full time, On Site

At G&H Ilminster, we specialise in the production of advanced optical components for aerospace and defence applications. We are currently recruiting for a proactive Site Facilities and Maintenance Coordinator to join our team in Ilminster. In this vital role, you'll support our maintenance department by managing records, coordinating repairs, and ensuring compliance—all within a dynamic industrial environment. This is a site-based role, working around machinery and tools, and will suit someone who thrives in a hands-on setting.

Key Responsibilities

· Schedule and coordinate maintenance work orders to ensure timely completion

· Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance activities and logs

· Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams to arrange services and repairs

· Order parts, tools, and equipment while monitoring inventory levels

· Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for the maintenance team

· Maintain compliance documentation in line with health and safety standards

· Handle and assign incoming maintenance requests

· Support budgeting, invoicing, and procurement for maintenance expenses

· Maintain asset registers, manuals, warranties, and service contracts

· Provide administrative support to the maintenance and facilities management team

Ideal candidates will have the following;

· Prior experience in an administrative role, within maintenance, engineering, facilities, operations or similar

· Familiarity with maintenance workflows and terminology

· Experience using computerised maintenance management systems (We use Fluke)

· Health & Safety awareness or certifications (a plus)

· Highly organised with strong multitasking abilities

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Meticulous attention to detail

· A practical, problem-solving mindset

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
