Job summary

John Paul Construction Limited is seeking an Environmental Sustainability Specialist to act as the environmental focal point for site teams, helping to develop and implement robust sustainability management plans.

The role provides technical support to ensure regulatory compliance, engages with project champions and managers to gather data, and supports corporate sustainability initiatives, CSRD reporting, and the rollout of SustainIQ for reporting and KPI tracking.

Qualifications

• Degree or higher in an environmental or sustainability related discipline.
• Adaptable to a challenging work environment.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel extensively to sites.
• 2 years in an environmental management role.
• Understanding of environmental best practices and regulations for construction projects.
• Experience in embedding environmental best practice and implementing sustainability action plans.
• Experience in construction stages of major development projects is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Act as environmental focal point for site teams and help develop and implement sustainability plans.
• Provide technical support to comply with environmental regulations and improve performance toward targets.
• Engage with project champions, managers and stakeholders to communicate requirements and collect data on environment, material declarations, and embodied carbon.
• Communicate project sustainability requirements to managers and champions.
• Support template development, tools, training, and technical support for users.
• Prepare progress reports and input data into audit forms and checklists.
• Assist with Sustainability Strategy at corporate level and corporate targets.
• Support applications for awards and certification programmes.
• Support CSRD Sustainability Reports.
• Assist with SustainIQ reporting integration and KPI tracking.
• Support Sustainability matters across the project.
