Job summary

Murphy is recruiting for a Site Engineering Manager to lead on energy projects from Norwich to Tilbury. The role focuses on coordinating civil works, temporary schemes, and site control while maintaining strong client and team relations.

You will ensure compliance with ITPs, RAMs and safety standards, manage procurement of materials and plant, and drive project delivery through proactive planning and documentation. The position requires clear leadership across disciplines and site locations.

Qualifications

• Experience in major civil engineering or construction projects.
• Experience with ITPs, RAMs & Temporary Works.
• Ability to communicate with top level management and clients.
• Strong knowledge of civil engineering legislation, health & safety and environment.
• Ability to develop and discuss engineering issues across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Assist with temporary works design schemes and ensure accurate drawings/specifications.
• Coordinate with client/designer/team and supply chain to avoid delays.
• Oversee materials and plant selection and requisition for construction.
• Prepare risk assessments and method statements for works control.
• Maintain a detailed daily site diary and document changes/variations.
• Ensure inspection and test plans (ITPs) are completed per PMP/Specification.
