Job description
Overview

Site / Senior Engineer Major Energy/Infrastructure Project (Highlands)

Are you interested in a career-defining opportunity to help deliver a landmark infrastructure project in the Scottish Highlands?

This unique role offers the chance to join the team of a family-owned construction business at the very early stages and make a tangible impact on a multi-year energy & civil engineering development that will shape the region's future (if not Scotland & the UK's).

About the Opportunity

Step into the ground floor of a major transmission line upgrade project, extending over 100km and set to run for several years. In the first year, you'll be central to the investigation, setting out, and preparation works. As the project progresses, you'll expand your skills further taking a lead role in risk assessment, quality assurance, and construction supervision alongside an experienced on-site leadership team.

The Role
  • Planning and executing site surveys, setting out, and reporting during the initial phases
  • Supporting and driving risk assessment, compliance, and safety culture as works intensify
  • Collaborating with project management and site teams to deliver results to high engineering standards
  • Enjoying a rotational schedule (10 days on, 4 off), with accommodation provided for non-local candidates ensuring comfort and balance during long-term works
  • Developing your expertise across all stages: from initial investigation to full-scale build, and representing best practice throughout
What's On Offer
  • Chance to join a close-knit, highly regarded engineering team where your voice matters
  • True long-term career development: start at the foundation and grow with the project, expanding your technical and leadership experience each year
  • Competitive salary, accommodation, travel support, and ongoing professional development
  • Opportunity to work at the heart of one of the Highlands' most significant infrastructure upgrades
Ideal Candidates
  • Experienced with site-based engineering roles - Site Engineer, Senior Engineer etc (in civil engineering projects, general or energy upgrade focused).
  • Strong communicator, committed to a culture of safety and quality
  • Ready for a long-term commitment in a remote but rewarding setting
  • Keen to leave a lasting legacy for the region and their own career trajectory

If you're ready for your next challenge where your skill, dedication, and ambition will be valued and rewarded, apply now to make your mark on one of Scotland's most exciting infrastructure developments.
