Job summary

Skilled Careers in the Crawley area is looking for a Site Engineer to manage setting out, QA and technical coordination on a range of construction projects in Sussex and Surrey.

The role requires degree or HNC in construction or civil engineering, proven setting-out experience, and proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office; knowledge of robotic total stations (Leica EDM) is essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining up-to-date construction drawings and registers.
• Carrying out site surveys and level surveys before sites start.

• Setting out groundworks, earthworks, foundations, drainage, roads, kerbs and external works.
• Taking off and assisting with ordering all groundworks and RC frame materials.
• Resolving setting out problems and raising RFIs.
• QA on site and implementing site Inspection Test Plans.
• Raising technical submittals and maintaining as-built records.
• Use of CAD and Leica EDM.

Salary/Package: £ competitive + car allowance and comprehensive package

The role:

We are looking for a skilled SiteEngineerto manage setting out, QA and technical coordination on a variety of construction building projects in Sussex and Surrey.

Key responsibilities:

• Maintaining up-to-date construction drawings and registers
• Carrying out site surveys and level surveys before sites start
• Setting out all elements and controlling line and level across the projects
• Checking building layout in relation to site boundaries
• Setting outgroundworks, earthworks, foundations, drainage, roads, kerbs and external works
• Taking off and assisting with ordering all groundworks and RC frame materials.
• Resolving setting out problems and raising and tracking RFIs.
• QA on site and implementing site Inspection Test Plans.
• Raising technical submittals and maintaining as-built records.
• Use of CAD and Leica EDM (TS06 / TS07/ TS16).

About you:

Essential:

• A consistent employment history, ideally demonstrating good tenure with previous employers.
• Previous experience of setting out on building projects.
• Sound knowledge of construction methods, health and safetyand legal regulations
• Fully conversant with the use of robotic total station or EDM instruments
• Degree qualified/HNC (or equivalent) in construction or civil engineering
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience in using AutoCAD and MS Office
