Job summary

Ridgeway & Co are seeking an experienced Groundworks Site Engineer for a long-term project in Cambridge. You will be responsible for setting out and engineering duties across the groundworks package, coordinating with Site Manager, groundworks teams and subcontractors to ensure works align with the programme.

The role requires strong setting-out and surveying skills, knowledge of foundations, drainage, and external works, and proficiency with Total Station and GPS equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Site Engineer on groundworks projects.
• Strong setting-out and surveying experience.
• Good knowledge of foundations, drainage and external works.
• Confident using Total Station/GPS equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Valid CSCS card required.

SITE ENGINEER

Rate: £350 - £400 per day, CIS

Duration: 9 Months

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting out and engineering duties across the groundworks package, working closely with the Site Manager, groundworks teams and subcontractors to ensure works are completed accurately, safely and in line with programme.

• Setting out levels, coordinates and datums across the site.
• Carrying out surveys and site checks.
• Using Total Station and GPS equipment.
• Reading and interpreting technical and construction drawings.
• Checking line, level and accuracy of completed works.
• Maintaining accurate site and engineering records.
• Liaising with Site Managers, groundworkers and subcontractors.
• Identifying and resolving setting-out or engineering issues.
• Monitoring works to ensure progress is maintained against programme.
• Ensuring works meet required quality and health & safety standards.
