Job summary

Joseph Gallagher Limited is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join our team in Luton, supporting a major civil infrastructure project that includes deep excavation, shaft and piling works. You will work closely with the Site Agent and Senior Engineer to ensure works are delivered safely, accurately and to high quality standards.

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Previous experience as a Site Engineer on civil engineering, infrastructure, or groundwork projects.
• Experience with excavation, drainage, reinforced concrete, or piling works.
• Strong setting out and surveying skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• CSCS Card.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out setting out and surveying activities for all aspects of the works.
• Ensure construction activities are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
• Monitor piling and excavation works, ensuring compliance with design and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate site records, quality inspections, and as-built information.
• Support the management of subcontractors and specialist suppliers.
• Assist in preparing work packs, permits, inspection and test plans, and RAMS.
• Monitor progress against programme and report any issues or delays.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
• Liaise with site management, designers, and client representatives.
• Assist in implementing and monitoring temporary works.

About the Role

JGL is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Site Engineer to join our team in Luton, supporting the successful delivery of a key civil engineering project involving deep excavation, shaft and piling works.

Key Responsibilities
