Job summary

EKFB is seeking a freelance Site Engineer with highways experience to join the Brackley area. You will oversee construction activities, liaise with subcontractors and Works Managers, check drawings and site reports, and ensure compliance with project plans.

Responsibilities include setting out, as-built surveys, requisitions, permits, and quality control of both subcontracted and self-delivered work. CSCS card and UK driving licence are required for this role, which operates within HS2 civil

About The Role

EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood.

We're seeking to recruit a Site Engineer with Highways experience on a freelance basis in the Brackley area.

The Site Engineer will oversee and supervise construction activities and ensuring that they comply with the project plans and drawings.

In this role you will liaise with subcontractors, and other professional staff, particularly Works Managers, Foremen, Section Engineers and Sub Agents. You will check and prepare site reports, designs and drawings and also manage, monitor and interpret the contract design documents. You will ensure project packages meet agreed specifications, budgets or timescales and provide technical advise and solving problems on-site.

In addition you will be doing Basic Setting out and as built survey, placing requisitions/material orders, requesting permits and perform quality controls of subcontracted work and self delivered activities.

About You

Key Skills and Qualifications

• HNC/Degree (Construction/Civil Engineering related) or equivalent and working towards institute membership (ICE)
• Experience in construction industry, particularly in highways and drainage works is essential for this role.
• Demonstration of knowledge and practical application of Site Engineering activities combined with construction supervision skills.
• Proficiency in using engineering software like AutoCAD and tools such as GPS and total stations.
• Familiarity with UK building and construction regulations.
• Holder of CSCS card
• Full driving licence required
