Job summary

McLaughlin & Harvey Ltd is seeking a Site Engineer to take full responsibility for civil engineering projects on site across the UK. The role requires strong technical knowledge and the ability to manage RAMS, subcontractors and on-site programmes.

You will work within a collaborative team, ensuring compliance with SHEQ policies and maintaining up-to-date drawings and documentation while delivering progress reports.

Qualifications

• HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Full driving licence.
• Willingness to travel across the UK.
• Excellent technical knowledge of civil engineering and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for all aspects of a civil engineering project on site.
• Ensure compliance with McLaughlin & Harvey SHEQ policies and procedures.
• Induct subcontractors, designers, clients, staff and visitors and manage RAMS.
• Set-out and levelling using GPS and total station equipment.
• Build relationships with management and supply chain.
• Produce weekly/monthly progress reports and maintain the NCR register.
• Keep drawings, specifications and contract documents up to date.
• Communicate programme risks to management and document contractual correspondence.
• Maintain daily records of labour, materials and plant, including subcontractors.
• Assist in variations and manage any commercial implications.

What you will be doing

The primary role is to take full responsibility and accountability for ensuring and delivering all aspects of acivilengineering project. The successful candidate will have a wide and varied remit making full use of their experience and skills.

• Responsible for following and implementing McLaughlin and Harvey procedures, inspectionsand forms

• Ensure all site activities are undertaken in compliance with McLaughlin and Harvey SHEQ policies and procedures

• Ensure subcontractors, designers, clients,staffand visitors are inducted and approved risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) are in place

• Setting out and levelling using GPS and/or total station equipment

• Build strong relationships with management and supply chain

• Record,submitand monitornon-conformancereports (NCR) andmaintainthe NCR register.

• Ensure drawings, specifications and other contract documents are kept up to date

• Ensure that the project programme is available and communicated to the supply chain prior to work commencing

• With theassistanceof the site agent develop short term look ahead programmes in collaboration with the supply chain

• Produce weekly / monthly progress reports, asappropriate.

• Communicate programme risks to the management team andmaintainrecords for contractual correspondence

• Ensureaccuratedaily records aremaintainedand communicated for labour,materialand plant, including Sub-contractors.

• Ensure the management team are kept appraised of variations to the works and any matter likely to have commercial or contractual implications.
