Job summary

STRABAG UK is seeking an ambitious Site Engineer to help deliver the SRFI contract at SEGRO Logistics Park Radlett in Hertfordshire. The project sits on the former Radlett Aerodrome site and aims to shift freight from road to rail while delivering major earthworks and infrastructure.

You will set out and survey, support Site Agents, review drawings, maintain records and liaise with subcontractors to keep the programme on track. A relevant civil engineering qualification and CSCS are desirable.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Site Engineer in civil infra.
• Setting out and surveying with appropriate equipment.
• Experience in earthworks, drainage, highways, utilities or reinforced concrete.
• Ability to interpret drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong understanding of construction methods and engineering principles.
• Experience working with subcontractors and project stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Team player with proactive issue resolution.
• Relevant HNC/HND or degree in civil engineering or related.
• CSCS certification and site-based qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Undertake accurate setting out and surveying of construction works using appropriate surveying equipment.
• Provide engineering support to Site Agents and the wider project delivery team.
• Ensure works are constructed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and inspection and test plans.
• Produce and maintain accurate site records, including quality documentation, as-built information and site measurements.
• Assist with the preparation and review of engineering drawings, specifications and technical information.
• Undertake regular checks and inspections to ensure works comply with the required tolerances and quality standards.
• Support the delivery of earthworks, drainage, highways, utilities and associated civil engineering infrastructure.
• Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure works are delivered in accordance with the programme and project requirements.
• Assist with the management and resolution of technical queries and requests for information.
• Monitor and record progress of works and provide relevant information to the Site Management team.
• Assist with the preparation of material quantities, measurements and records where required.
• Ensure all engineering activities are undertaken in accordance with STRABAG UK procedures and relevant health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
• Contribute to the identification and resolution of technical issues on site.
• Support the preparation of handover and as-built documentation.
• Maintain effective communication with colleagues, subcontractors, consultants and other project stakeholders.
