Job summary

Fawkes and Reece is seeking a Contract Site Engineer to lead field activities on water treatment/wastewater projects in the Totton area. The role requires a degree in engineering, a CSCS card, and a minimum of three years' site experience at engineer level or higher.

Experience with water infrastructure, reinforced concrete structures, cofferdams, and large-diameter pipework is preferred. The project involves confined spaces and coordination with TW/design teams, with a strong focus on safety

Qualifications

• Degree level or equivalent in an engineering-related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years' experience at Site Engineer level or above, ideally on water/wastewater projects.
• Water-retaining reinforced concrete structures experience (BS EN 1992-3 / BS 8007 detailing) preferred.
• Sheet-piled cofferdams and deep excavations experience (cofferdams to ~5.35 m) preferred.
• Confined space training/competency or willingness to obtain preferred.
• Large-diameter pipework installation experience (DN600-DN1200) preferred.
• Tying in to live water infrastructure and coordinating isolations without disrupting supply preferred.

• Required: Degree level or equivalent in an engineering-related discipline, plus relevant CSCS card

• Preferred: Water-retaining reinforced concrete structures experience (design tolerances/crack control to BS EN 1992-3 / BS 8007-type detailing), including thick in-situ base slabs (up to 1.3m), walls and precast roof plank installation
• Preferred: Experience working within sheet-piled cofferdams and deep excavations (this package includes cofferdams to c.5.35m depth), including interface with temporary works designers/TW coordinators, dewatering and ground support systems
• Preferred: Confined space experience- the works include below-ground chambers and pump cells requiring confined space entry, so CSCS aside, confined space training/competency (or willingness to obtain) is expected
• Preferred: Large-diameter pipework installation experience - this package involves DN600-DN1200 ductile iron pipework (cement mortar lined), wall couplings, valve installation, and hydrostatic/pressure testing to a formal test regime
• Preferred: Experience tying in to and working around live/operational water infrastructure, including connections to existing pipework and coordination of isolations/shutdowns without compromising water supply continuity
