Job description

We are looking to strengthen our Construction team with a Site Engineer, based at Knapp Mill Christchurch, Bournemouth.

You will report directly to the Site Manager, and your role will involve providing setting out and quality control services to ensure that the contract works are constructed to the specification in a safe manner, while maintaining appropriate site records.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with C.D.M. Regulations and comply with the company's safe working practices.
  • Assist in the preparation of construction programmes, Method Statements, Action Plans, and Risk Assessments.
  • Set out the works.
  • Check site work to ensure compliance with the specification and drawings.
  • Agree on site measurements and records with the client’s staff.
  • Assist in maintaining drawing files, drawing register, and site filing systems.
  • Liaise with the design department to ensure updated information is used.
  • Take off quantities from drawings for measurement and assist in the preparation of requisitions.
  • Assist in preparing the construction completion documentation.
  • Ensure that works are constructed to a good quality in line with specifications and good working practices.
  • Maintain quality records.
  • Ensure all works adhere to current legislation, the company health & safety policy, procedures, and safe working practices, in conjunction with other site staff.
  • Establish good, honest, and open communication lines.
  • Lead by example in safety behaviors.

Essential qualifications and experience:

  • BTEC National or HNC in Civil Engineering/Construction (minimum)
  • Levelling & Surveying experience (using total stations & automatic levels)

Desirable qualifications:

  • First Aid at Work qualification
  • SMSTS
  • CSCS Supervision card
  • EUSR SHEA Water
