Job summary

Sphere Solutions is recruiting for a premier contractor supporting major Tier 1 civil engineering projects across the UK. They are expanding their team and are looking to add multiple Site Engineers/Engineering Surveyors to their operations in Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth with generous lodging support for out-of-area candidates.

Key responsibilities include traversing, levelling, monitoring with Total Stations and Digital Levels, and setting-out for RC works, bridges and viaducts.

Qualifications

• Proven background as a Site Engineer or Engineering Surveyor within heavy civil engineering.
• Proficiency with modern surveying equipment, software, and setting-out techniques, such as Total Station.

Responsibilities

• Deliver precise traversing and levelling.
• Conduct manual and automatic monitoring using Total Stations and Digital Levels.
• Handle machine control, volumetrics, and 3D surface modelling.
• Provide accurate setting out and engineering oversight for RC works, bridges, and viaducts.
• Execute laser scanning operations and produce detailed technical reports.

Site Engineer / Engineering Surveyor (Multiple Openings)

• Location: Devonport Dockyard, Plymouth
• Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 per year (DOE)
• Job Type: Full-Time

Overview

Sphere solutions are recruiting for a premier contractor supporting major Tier 1 civil engineering projects across the UK. They are expanding their existing team and are looking to add multiple Site Engineers/ Engineering Surveyors to their operations. Generous lodging support is available for out-of-area candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver precise traversing and levelling.
• Conduct manual and automatic monitoring using Total Stations and Digital Levels.
• Handle machine control, volumetrics, and 3D surface modelling.
• Provide accurate setting out and engineering oversight for Reinforced Concrete (RC) works, bridges, and viaducts.
• Execute laser scanning operations and produce detailed technical reports.

Compensation & Comprehensive Benefits Package

• £55,000 - £60,000
• Exceptional lodging rates
• £400 - £500 per month car allowance
• £180 per month matched pension contribution
• 17p per mile for business mileage
• Double time for weekends; Time-and-a-half for weekday nights
• 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

Requirements & Security Clearance

• Proven background as a Site Engineer or Engineering Surveyor within heavy civil engineering.
• Proficiency with modern surveying equipment, software, and setting-out techniques, such as Total Station.
• All candidates must be eligible to obtain Ministry of Defence (MOD) security clearance. Due to secure site requirements, certain nationalities cannot be considered (including nationals from Russia, China, Ukraine, and India).
