Job summary

A leading civil engineering contractor is seeking a Site Engineer for a major highways project in Bristol that lasts 18 months. The successful candidate will lead engineering works, manage junior engineers, and ensure compliance with technical specifications. Ideal candidates will have a degree in Civil Engineering and proven experience in similar roles.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a similar Senior Engineer role on highways or major infrastructure projects.
• CSCS card essential; SMSTS or SSSTS and First Aid desirable.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Site Engineer to join a leading civil engineering contractor on a major highways project running for 18 months in the heart of Bristol.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage engineering works across the project, ensuring compliance with specifications and HSEQ standards

• Set out works in accordance with project drawings and specifications

• Manage and mentor junior engineers and subcontractors on site

• Work closely with the site and project management teams to drive progress and solve technical issues

• Ensure accurate records of quality inspections, as-builts, and materials testing are maintained

• Support delivery against programme and help identify any delays or changes to scope

Requirements:

• Degree or HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline

• Proven experience in a similar Senior Engineer role on highways or major infrastructure projects

• Strong setting out and surveying skills (use of GPS, total station, etc.)

• CSCS card essential; SMSTS or SSSTS and First Aid desirable

• Strong communication and leadership skills
