Site Engineer - Major Infrastructure (Clean Water & Highways)

Salary: £35,000 - £47,000 + package

Location: Basingstoke

I'm recruiting for a Site Engineer to support long-term infrastructure works, focusing on clean water, sewer diversions, and projects delivered within the highway. This is an excellent opportunity for an Engineer looking to progress within a stable, well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a mixture of clean water, deep drainage, and utilities schemes.

The Role

You'll be responsible for all site engineering duties, including setting out, maintaining survey control, supporting the Site Agent with short-term planning, and ensuring works are delivered safely and to specification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Setting out for clean water, drainage, sewer diversions, chambers, ducting and associated civil works.
  • Managing works taking place within the highway, ensuring compliance with permits and traffic management requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate site records, ITPs, site diaries, allocation sheets and as-built information.
  • Working closely with the Site Agent and delivery team to plan and coordinate daily/weekly activities.
  • Liaising with subcontractors, designers and internal teams to resolve technical queries.
  • Supporting quality, safety and environmental compliance across the site.
About You
  • Experience working on clean water or wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Strong setting out skills with robotic total station/EDM instruments.
  • Experience of sewer diversions, deep drainage or water mains installation.
  • Comfortable working in the highway and familiar with streetworks constraints.
  • HNC/Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
  • CSCS card and experience using AutoCAD.
