Job summary

Omega Plc is seeking a Head of Electrical Engineering – Senior Site Duty Holder to drive leadership, governance and long-term electrical strategy across our manufacturing campus in Attenborough, UK. You will influence major capital projects, shape reliability, sustainability and continuous improvement with a hands-on, senior leadership style.

You will lead a high-performing team of electrical and systems engineers, mentor talent, manage budgets and contractor performance, and ensure compliance

Qualifications

• Lead electrical governance and compliance across a manufacturing site.
• Strong knowledge of LV/HV distribution systems.
• Experience as Electrical Duty Holder or Senior Authorised Person.
• Commercial awareness including budgets and contractor management.
• Proven ability to develop technical capability and mentor teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Site Electrical Duty Holder and lead all electrical governance activities.
• Ensure compliance with Electricity at Work Regulations and company engineering standards.
• Maintain site electrical standards, procedures, specifications, and governance frameworks.
• Support and develop Deputy Duty Holders and competent persons across the site.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to electrical engineers and system engineers.
• Develop long-term electrical distribution and infrastructure strategies.
• Lead reliability and availability of LV/HV systems across the campus.
• Oversee maintenance strategies, asset management, and lifecycle planning.
• Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance reliability and performance.

Electrical Leadership & Duty Holder Responsibilities

• Act as the Site Electrical Duty Holder and lead all electrical governance activities
• Ensure compliance with Electricity at Work Regulations and company engineering standards
• Maintain site electrical standards, procedures, specifications, and governance frameworks
• Support and develop Deputy Duty Holders and competent persons across the site

Site Infrastructure & Electrical Reliability

• Develop long-term electrical distribution and infrastructure strategies
• Ensure reliability and availability of LV and HV systems across the manufacturing campus
• Lead business continuity and contingency planning for critical electrical assets
• Oversee maintenance strategies, asset management, and lifecycle planning
• Manage electrical obsolescence and infrastructure investment programmes

Electrical Engineering Leadership & Capability Development

• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing electrical engineering team
• Build electrical competence and training programmes across the site
• Support succession planning and talent development initiatives
• Drive a culture of accountability, engagement, and technical excellence

Sustainability & Continuous Improvement

• Support energy reduction, efficiency, and sustainability programmes
• Contribute to renewable energy initiatives and environmental targets
• Manage contractor performance, procurement activities, and engineering budgets
• Drive site-wide continuous improvement projects that enhance reliability, compliance, and performance

Role Requirements & Experience

• Head of Electrical Engineering - Senior Site Duty Holder
• Experience leading electrical engineering functions within manufacturing or process industries
• Strong knowledge of LV/HV electrical distribution systems
• Experience operating as an Electrical Duty Holder, Senior Authorised Person or similar
• Electrical compliance, governance, and audit experience
• Experience managing engineering teams and developing technical capability
• Commercial awareness including contractors, budgets
• Time-served Electrical Apprentice HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
• Desirable High Voltage Authorised Person qualification IOSH Electrical Safety Comp Ex Responsible Person desirable
