The Opportunity

In both client-facing and internal roles, we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We aim to deliver safe, high-quality, and timely solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively.

Reporting to the Site Delivery Lead, you will support the overall direction and leadership of activities associated with the full lifecycle delivery of the Temporary Construction Area sub-programme. You will lead/manage a group of Senior Project Managers and Managers to ensure delivery of a large scope including Earthworks, Enabling works (UXO, ecology, archaeology), Civils, Networks, and Buildings. This role involves managing a matrix team across various disciplines, including the nuclear new build supply chain and quality teams.

You will also assist the Site Delivery Lead in developing strategies for delivering scope within cost, schedule, and quality parameters. Additionally, you will oversee the operational delivery of engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning activities in line with the overall project schedule.

Key responsibilities will be:
  1. Work with project teams to define work scope and interfaces within the programme.
  2. Coordinate with the Site Delivery Lead to secure resources, maintain SQEP, and address personnel issues.
  3. Provide direction to ensure effective execution of strategies in line with the Programme Execution Plan.
  4. Maintain effective communication with stakeholders and execute project strategies.
  5. Drive contract or package activity delivery, ensuring safety, timeliness, budget adherence, and technical compliance.
  6. Monitor progress, track milestones, and report to the Site Delivery Leadership team.
  7. Identify risks, resolve issues, and update programmes and budgets accordingly.
  8. Develop and maintain schedules, escalating discrepancies as needed.
  9. Ensure the delivery of the List of Deliverables (LOD).
  10. Apply principles of Continuous Improvement and lessons learned.
  11. Coordinate with other programmes for best practices and overall project progress.
  12. Fulfill contractual requirements and establish effective working relationships within the project team.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience delivering projects in complex, regulated environments, preferably within Nuclear Energy.
  • Experience engaging diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong management skills in project, financial, change management, and facilitation.
  • Proficiency with estimating, scheduling, programming, and risk tools.
  • Experience managing contractors and consultants on large, complex projects, including NEC and FIDIC contracts.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and organizational skills.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Detailed understanding of EPR design and experience.
  • Degree and chartered status in engineering, construction, or related fields.
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations.
  • Practitioner of Project Management with experience in APM and Prince2 methodologies.
  • Experience managing projects from concept to handover.
