The Opportunity

In both client-facing and internal roles, we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We aim to deliver safe, high-quality, and timely solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively.

Reporting to the Site Delivery Lead, you will support the overall direction and leadership of activities associated with the full lifecycle delivery of the Temporary Construction Area sub-programme. You will have responsibility to lead/manage a group of Senior Project Managers and Managers, ensuring delivery of a large scope of Earthworks, Enabling works (including UXO, ecology, archaeology), Civils, Networks, and Buildings. The role involves managing a matrix team of wider disciplines forming the project delivery team, e.g., the nuclear new build supply chain team, the nuclear new build quality team, and suppliers.

This role will also assist the Site Delivery Lead in developing strategies for delivering scope to cost, schedule, and quality. It also includes ensuring the operational delivery of all (or part of) the engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning activities or work packages, in accordance with the overall Project schedule.

Key responsibilities will be:

• Work with the Project Teams to define the scope of work within contracts or work packages and the interfaces with other programme elements.
• Coordinate with the Site Delivery Lead to secure resources, maintain SQEP, and address personnel issues.
• Provide direction to ensure effective execution of strategies and plans in line with the Programme Execution Plan (PEP).
• Maintain effective communication with stakeholders and execute project strategies.
• Drive contract or package activity delivery, ensuring safety, timeliness, budget, and technical compliance; monitor progress and report to the Site Delivery Leadership team.
• Identify risks, resolve issues, and update the programme and budget as needed.
• Develop and maintain schedules, escalate discrepancies, and ensure the delivery of scope of work.
• Apply principles of Continuous Improvement and ensure lessons learned are captured.
• Interface with other programmes for high-level project progress and best practice adoption.
• Ensure contractual requirements are met and maintain effective relationships within the project team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering projects in complex, regulated environments, ideally within Nuclear Energy.
• Experience engaging stakeholders and managing contractors, consultants, and advisors, including NEC and FIDIC contracts.
• Strong management skills in project, financial, change management, and facilitation.
• Proficiency in estimating, scheduling, programming, and risk management tools.
• Good presentation, influencing, and organizational skills; excellent communication skills.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Detailed understanding of EPR design and experience.
• Degree and chartered status in engineering, construction, or related field.
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations and project management methodologies (APM, Prince2).
• Experience managing projects from concept to handover.
